Henk de Vries (NL, 1950) is one of Holland’s most important and influential cannabis entrepreneurs. His brainchild, The Bulldog, is the world’s best known coffeeshop and has since 1975 developed into a unique business empire.
Henk de Vries is first and foremost a man of perseverance, someone who never gives up. It’s only thanks to this persistence that The Bulldog has grown into a true empire. The crown jewel is the Bulldog Palace, located in the former police headquarters on Leidseplein.
There are Bulldog cafés, a Bulldog Hotel, Bulldog bike rental and of course Bulldog rolling papers and merchandise. Every cannabis lover should visit the original Bulldog, still located at Oudezijds Voorburgwal 90 in Amsterdam, at least once in their life.
